Senior Game Designer

As a Senior Game Designer you will be responsible to conceptualize, create, and execute complex systems. Candidates must have 2 or more years experience working on Free-to-Play games and exhibit passion for the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Lead Game Designer to systematically create or adapt game features that align with the vision and schedule of the game from concept through to a complete, tuned and polished experience on mobile platforms

  • Model, build and tune complex systems for Free-to-Play mobile games

  • Assess and address the trade-offs between traditional and Free-to-Play game design

  • Mentor and provide direction to junior designers

  • Analyze real-time feedback and metrics and adjust game designs accordingly

  • Clearly communicate the design teams goals with product managers, engineers and artists

  • Remain up to date with the industries trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in game systems design and tuning

  • Excellent communication skills with a specific ability to simplify complex ideas into a quickly consumable form

  • Strong knowledge of game balancing, pacing, and UX

  • Experience as a game designer on AAA console games is a plus

  • Technical degree or background is preferred

Lead Gameplay Engineer

As a Lead Gameplay Engineer you will work closely with the Creative Director and Executive Producer to implement the vision of the game from concept to a polished and remarkable experience on mobile platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly prototype game designs to find the fun

  • Transform design specs into functional game code that surprises and charms players

  • Coding, debugging and management of critical game systems that meet all design, technical and schedule requirements

  • Collaborate with technical leadership and other engineers in the creation and evolution of core game mechanics

  • Manage implementation of key moment-to-moment gameplay features to maximize their gameplay impact and meet technical requirements

  • Mentor junior members of the gameplay programming team and invest in tools that raise the bar for everybody

  • Clearly communicate and discuss team and individual goals with producers, game designers, and artists

  • Remain up to date on industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

  • Proficiency with interpreted languages (C#, Java) and scripting languages (Perl, Python, Lua)

  • Demonstrated ability to write efficient, clean, readable, portable, and reliable code

  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented programming

  • Love of games and building and polishing memorable play moments

  • 5+ years of experience working in the AAA game industry

  • Worked on production game title from concept to ship

  • Experience in gameplay related fields like AI, physics, animation, weapons, scripting and networking

  • Experience with computer game technologies including camera systems, AI programming, physics, 3D programming, animation and collision detection

  • Knowledge of common data structures and algorithmic solutions

  • Proficient with 3D math including linear algebra (vector math, matrices)

Executive Producer

As an Executive Producer, you will lead and manage a talented studio composed of product managers, artists, designers and engineers to create and operate world-class mobile games. In tandem with the Creative Director, you will act as the lead on key titles, but you are ultimately the individual responsible for all aspects of the studio, including P&L ownership and key personnel management.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to move game projects from concept to completion

  • Create top games that have broad appeal, strong and sustainable retention, and high monetization metrics

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to production teams while tracking game development across a slate of products

  • Lead the creation of each project’s product roadmap, schedule and budget

  • Partner with User Acquisition to define long-term plans for each title

  • Contribute to building and maintaining the project P&L and provide analysis to senior leadership

  • Take a long-term view towards developing products with an eye toward sequels and product line extensions

  • Lead Strategic Planning for the studio by keeping track of product opportunities and building up a strong pipeline

  • Be an internal and external advocate for the players, products and studio

  • Manage, coach and empower staff to ensure growth and expand the talent base

  • Set clear goals for the team and hold employees accountable for deliverables; continually recognize and reward employees for strong performance

  • Create a culture that provides support, growth, and empowerment

  • Drive communication between senior leadership and the studio

  • Remain up to date with industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in the gaming industry; exposure to Free-to-Play would be advantageous

  • 3+ years experience at Senior Producer level or above in game development

  • Demonstrated ability on managing games from pre-production to launch, including 2+ AAA titles

  • Proven track record of managing large teams (25+ people) with different/competing priorities and ability to lead the team to strategic and tactical decisions

  • Experience with current team management methods and practices

  • Understanding of a variety of development processes for major game development projects

  • In-depth knowledge of portfolio, businesses, functions and all relevant stakeholders to successfully drive decisions and recommendation regarding projects

  • Strong analytical skills and high business/financial acumen

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and natural ability as a leader

  • Knowledge of all aspects of game production and current industry technologies and trends

  • Passion for mobile gaming and entertainment

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Master’s degree/MBA preferred
